In this online program, you’ll master basic and advanced design skills, as you gain hands-on practice in using the 2D tools in AutoCAD 2015. After gaining mastery in using basic tools and you’ll advance to explore efficiency tools, complex objects, use of external reference and image files, advanced plotting, and customizations.

With Autodesk certified curriculum, you’ll learn all of the skills needed to prepare for the Autodesk AutoCAD 2015 Certified Professional and User exams. You will learn how to do the following tasks as they relate to the AutoCAD 2015 software:
• Understand the workspace and user interface
• Use basic drawing, editing, and viewing tools
• Modify drawings (selecting, moving, copying, rotating, scaling, mirroring, and grips)
• Organize drawing objects on layers and manage layers
• Use multiple advanced editing and construction techniques
• Get information in a drawing
• Insert reusable symbols (blocks)
• Set up a layout (printing, manipulating, copying, creating viewports) and prepare a layout to be plotted

The AutoCAD 2015 online program helps you master fundamental tools to create and edit AutoCAD drawings. Throughout the program, you’ll explore efficiency tools, advanced plotting, complex objects, using external reference and image files, and enhance productivity with simple customization.


This program focuses on 2D tools within AutoCAD. The content in this program is engaging, with hands-on exercises that use software and files to learn and practice their new skills. Course assignments and instruction incorporates real-world examples, enabling you to experience the various fields in which AutoCAD is integral.


As a student, you can download AutoCAD 2015 with 3-years of free access under a student license. Please note that we cannot extend this length of your student license for AutoCAD 2015. Also, the AutoCAD 2015 student software license cannot be used in a commercial environment.


Once you have completed your AutoCAD 2015 program, you will have learned the skills required to become an Autodesk AutoCAD 2015 Certified Professional and User. A free exam voucher for the Autodesk AutoCAD 2015 Certified User exam will be provided to you upon successful completion of the program.

How long does it take to complete a program?

Can I register for the course if I am an international student?
Yes, because ed2go programs are online you never have to actually travel to the school. Most schools offer telephone or online registration.
What software or hardware do I need in order to take online programs and what are the system requirements?
This program can only be taken from a PC. It is not Mac compatible. It is compatible with Windows 7 and later operating systems. It is also compatible with IE9, Chrome 13, Firefox 5, and Safari 5 and later browsers. There are no specific computer requirements other than an Internet connection and e-mail account. We recommend that you use the latest version of Internet Explorer in place of other Web browsers; however, the program should also be compatible with Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. You will need AutoCAD 2015. As a student you can download a free version of the AutoCAD 2015 software (containing AutoCAD 3D tools). The free student license expires after 3 years. Please note that ed2go cannot extend the software license for AutoCAD 2015. Additionally, the AutoCAD 2015 student software license can’t be used in a commercial environment. No, this program cannot be taken on a Mac.
When can I start the program?

Do I have to submit coursework?
There is no course work that has to be submitted. All grading is based on quizzes in the program, a midterm, and two final exams that are taken online and automatically submitted for grading.
Does this program prepare for an industry recognized exam?
Yes, this program will prepare you for the Autodesk AutoCAD 2015 Certified Professional and User exams. Upon successful completion of the program, an Autodesk AutoCAD 2015 Certified User exam voucher will be provided to you at no additional cost.  Actual hands-on experience is a critical component in preparing for either exam. You must spend time using the product and the skills learned from this program. In addition to this program, an additional 50 hours of hands-on application are strongly recommended prior to taking the Certified User exam.  You should have an additional 400 hours of hands-on experience with the AutoCAD software before attempting the Certified Professional exam.
What if I don't have enough time to complete my program within the time frame provided?
The time allotted to complete your program has been calculated based on the number of hours for each program, so don't worry too much about not completing in time. If, after a concerted effort, you are still unable to complete, your Student Advisor will help you work out a suitable completion date. Please note that a fee will be charged for an extension.
